Course Description
This course focuses on the application of economic analytical concepts in individual and business decision making process. Optimization techniques in dealing with maximization of consumer satisfaction and profit as well as minimization of cost under certain and uncertain conditions are emphasized. It also discusses tools to analyze aggregate economic behavior such as economic growth, money, productivity, inflation, and unemployment.
Course Learning Outcomes
At the completion of this course, a student will be able to:- Develop an understanding of the applications of managerial economics.
- Interpret regression analysis and discuss why it’s employed in decision-making.
- Discuss optimization and utility including consumer behavior.
- Assess the relationships between short-run and long-run costs.
- Analyze perfectly competitive markets including substitution.
- Explain uniform pricing and how it relates to price discrimination and total revenue.
